Last night we hosted a fabulously friendly speed networking event in Nottingham for local creatives.  There was a lovely mix of professionals and up-and-coming talent as well as a handful of individuals looking for opportunities to assist local creatives.

People started arriving around 5:30pm for registration and got themselves a drink whilst we waited for the masses.  Once we got past the confusion of those who had turned up looking to meet that “special someone” we got going with speed networking (not dating!)
Any apprehension soon dissipated as the bell rang and we all got talking, the atmosphere was friendly and as a member of Pop Up Nottingham I mingled and tried to make people feel very welcome.
We were split into two groups, one group to sit at individual tables and the other to rotate around the room. It was very interesting being on the other side of the table.
We all had 2 minutes each to talk about the nature of our businesses. It was good to find out what interesting things are going on in a great City such as Nottingham. There are a lot of brilliant ideas out there, as an event, I found it reassuring to be able to network and share ideas with like-minded people, and I hope to have made some great contacts.
I look forward to the next speed networking event, and hope to meet even more new faces! Get ready Nottingham we are breathing life back into our city!

Don’t take our word for it, this is what the guests had to say:

“This was good, I met lots of like minded people.” – Serena (Graphic Artist/Writer)
“Interesting – got some good advice from others” – Alison (Photography)
“It was really fab and very useful” – Beth (Food)
“It’s definitely a much needed groundbreaker, which I hope will gather pace” – Glen (Musician)
“Brilliant! Very beneficial” – Christina (Graphic Designer)
We would like to thank you all for coming; maybe we will see you at the next one?

@artgarfheinkel - Quite right. Noted and altered. We hope that you that you will join a network that listens to criticism and learns from it. Pop Up Nottingham is a working progress, we value the good with the bad in terms of feedback and hope everyone involved will benefit from our journey.

I'm not signing up to any network where the people who run it don't know how to use an apostrophe. Local creative's?
