Well it was a dreary day for me and the family in Skegness this weekend, the sea was brown, the rock was soft and coincidently the rain was wet, as per usual the weather and finances dictated the Bank Holiday and peoples state of mind, due to the fuel prices and the recession it made it a very quiet Easter break. There has been a study to question the economic sense of bank holidays in the UK. The centre of Economics and Business Research has calculated that if we cancelled BH it would increase GDP by 1.3 percent or about £19bn. Well it wasn’t so quiet in most towns and City centres, drinks were flowing like there was no tomorrow, the true meaning of Easter almost forgotten by most. As mentioned, my family and I experienced Skegness, thankfully we are safely home now but we have all signed a disclaimer to never speak of said experience ever again!

Maybe it was the Skegness air but we were all ill today, I’m adamant that it has nothing to do with my cooking. I thought about calling a Doctor out to see us all together, but when I heard that there might be a threat of a strike due to the Governments proposed changes to their pension entitlements next month, I thought better of it, operations and appointments could be cancelled which doesn’t sound good, especially with my Piles…. Do you think that rather than putting plans in place in case of emergencies, the Government should just review their plans? Should Doctors just accept their lot? Are we happy for them to stand up for what they believe in even though it could affect us? Well if it does come down to a strike, there is always ice and a cushion I can sit on.

Wednesday 11th April 2012

As per usual I’m in trouble at work, so I decided to do a bit of spying on my boss to see if he was having “meetings” regarding my future with the company…. Nothing about me yet, but Tracy in Marketing is having a few problems at home, I haven’t written her last name so that nobody knows who I’m talking about….. Oh… Just found out that she is the only Tracy in Marketing. Oh well I hope everything works out for you at home Tracy… That’s what happens when you spy on people, you get to find things out that you shouldn’t. But I suppose that’s what the US Government agencies intends to do now that they have won a court ruling allowing them to withhold evidence from the British MPs in regards to the suspected UK involvement in “extraordinary rendition” which in a nutshell is the secret arrests and “alleged” torture of terror suspects.

Do “they” wish us to believe that just because they are now telling us about said information that we are to believe it’s a new concept… I think that most films are adapted from certain real life scenarios and “Spy” films have been around for years…. It’s not just the MP’s that are being kept in the dark there are things we will never know. I don’t think that I would have made a good spy, I’ve just sneezed whilst hiding in the cupboard in my boss’s office, and he is now walking towards my hiding place…. Abort, Abort…. Did I say that out loud? Oh crap.

Thursday 12th April 2012

Now that spring is here, and the sun is kind of shining, you start to notice how shabby certain things look in the home. Walls need painting and furniture needs to be replaced; my sofa is looking very tired, like it within itself needs to sit down…. There is one place I won’t be getting any furniture from and that’s Reeves furniture store in Croydon, due to the mindless act of Gordon Thompson during last years riots, he was sentenced to 11-and-a-half years in prison yesterday which was one of the longest sentences handed down for the riots. Sometimes we don’t realise how our actions can have a knock on effect on others, in this instance the store owners and the tenant who lived in the apartment above the store causing her to jump to her safety to escape the flames, I think that there is a big difference between standing up for what you believe in and causing unnecessary destruction on the back of something you know nothing about. Speaking of unnecessary destruction, I’ve just smashed my sad sofa to smithereens, I’m now using a door propped up on bricks, covered in pretty material with cushions, I wonder if anyone will notice…. Well my next door neighbour might due to the fact that I got the bricks from her garden wall.

Friday 13th April 2012

Many people will get caught up in the superstition of this date, therefore bringing negativity upon themselves, but why not think positively and forget about such bad omens and celebrate another GOD given day, today is positive Friday, the day in my diary when I try and encourage us all to work together, to unite as a community and help those who need it most. Let’s do a random act of kindness and spread love to nullify the myth that is called Friday the 13th
