The Christmas lights will be switched on in the Old Market Square tonight. Entertainment will start from 5pm and the lights will be switched on at 6.20pm, but that's not all...
This year the switch will be flicked by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham Councillor Mick Wildgust from the stage under the impressive North Star swing ride.
To keep the crowds entertained there will be street entertainment from panto characters, break dancing Santas and the Lost Elves complete with Rudolf the Reindeer.
Plus there will be live music from local singer songwriter Freddie Kofi who will perform Capital FM favourites for the crowd. Adding to the music on the night will be The Nottingham Jazz Ensemble and Nottingham Music School who will perform Christmas classics. The Winter Wonderland will then open for all to enjoy with a wonderful selection of traditional children's rides, including a carousel and reindeer ride, delicious festive food and drink, a grand Christmas tree and the popular craft and gift market - selling unique handmade gifts.
