The National Ice Centre is delighted to announce that customers are now able to book tickets for ice skating sessions and themed parties via the world’s largest social network, Facebook.
Following the installation of AudienceView, the in-house ticketing system at Capital FM Arena Nottingham and the National Ice Centre last summer, the venue has taken another step forward to provide customers with an accessible, efficient and far-reaching platform for online ticket purchases and is the first ice rink in the UK to do so.
As well as a ‘buy and reserve’ function, the innovative distribution channel named AudienceView Tiki, will also allow customers the chance to reserve tickets for their friends, invite friends to a skating session and share the experience post-event.
Kate Osborne, Digital Marketing Manager at the NIC said: “The NIC is a very sociable brand, so it’s really exciting to be the first ice rink in the UK to roll-out this functionality.
“Offering our social media audiences the opportunity to book tickets to skating sessions, coupled with the fact that they can invite and even reserve tickets for their friends, really does takes social networking and sharing to a new level, and will see our position as a social market leader flourish.”
AudienceView Tiki is part of a trial, and if it proves successful, Capital FM Arena Nottingham may look to sell tickets via Facebook for music events in the future, allowing customers to purchase tickets and reserve seats for their friends without ever leaving Facebook and providing the East Midlands’ biggest music venue with a powerful functionality that is unique within the marketplace.
