It's time for young people inNottingham to showcase their creative talent - with the launch of the 2012 Young Creative Awards.

In 2012, the Nottingham Young Creative Awards kick off an exciting year in the run up to the Olympics. To celebrate our vibrant multicultural city and the UK taking the world stage, the theme for the Young Creative Awards 2012 is "Nottingham Welcomes the World".

The awards now in their fourth year, are your chance to show us how your work reflects our diverse city and how our vibrant multicultural city welcomes the world. Last year's event attracted 170 entries and organisers are hoping that 2012 will be the biggest year yet.

To launch the awards, nearly 200 people from all sectors, creative businesses and young people came together at Nottingham Contemporary on Tuesday 27th September. Here, potential sponsors, judges and entrants heard from previous winners about the importance of the awards to young people and the creative industries inNottingham.
