The Lyric Lounge www.lyriclounge.co.uk  is returning to Nottingham as part of the World Event Young Artists festival www.worldeventyoungartists.com that is taking place from the 7-16 September 2012. The Mouthy Poets are running workshops for young writers and performers aged 14-30 to end in two performances at the Lyric Lounge in Nottingham’s Market Square on the 10th and 11th September.
 

Participants will: 

•       Meet and talk to international artists.
•       Write, perform and record a poem.
•       Work with live international musicians.
•       Have a piece of poetry on a pressed and packaged CD.
•       Learn to DJ your own poetry.
•       Perform in a 150 capacity geodesic dome in market square to 1000 international    artists!
•       Work towards achieving an Arts Award qualification

Lyric Lounge Recording Sessions

@ Project Studios, Nottingham. (Everyone to meet at Nottingham rail station) 31st August/1st September (TBC) 12-6pm 2nd September 12-6pm. This is where we will be recording your spoken word pieces with music to be pressed and packaged in a CD for your to take home and give to friends, fans and family. 
 

Lyric Lounge Showcase

Monday 10th September 2012 (from 12pm if you are not at school) 4–8pm Tuesday 11th September 2012 (from 10.30am if you are not at school) 4-9pm Market Square, Nottingham City Centre
 

These workshops are FREE to attend and refreshments will be provided.

However places are very limited and are by enrolment only, so you will need to email Catherine@writingeastmidlands.co.uk for an enrolment form saying in 50 words why you want to take part by Friday 17 August.
